The Dosi-Tube System allows a operator to evaluate the level or exposure to a worker over a time period such as a working shift. Using a simple equation, the Dosi-tube system produces an average concentration of exposure over a set period of time commonly known as a Time Weighted Average (TWA).

The TWA measurement system consists of Gastec Dosi-tubes and a tube holder (GAS710). The system requires no pump, papers, charts, secondary operations or laboratory analysis. Air diffuses passively through the tube and reacts, like the standard detector tube system, with the detecting agent with the tube.

The tube and tube holder can be attached to the breathing zone of people within the work place or installed in work areas to act as an area monitor for a prolonged length of time (1 to 10 hours) to measure personal exposure and TWA values. With this system day-to-day gas concentration distribution in the work place can be easily obtained. Measurement values can be used to assess the working environment by comparing them with the occupational exposure limited recommended by the Health and Safety executive in the EH40 Exposure Limit booklet.
