Multi (5+ Gas) Detectors

What are multi-gas detectors?
Portable multi-gas detectors are used for carrying out pre-checks and to monitor multiple gases. These instruments either provide personal protection in applications where 5 or more gas hazards are present or to carry out advanced gas monitoring activities because of the superior features these instruments have over 4 gas confined space monitors.

Typically they are larger in size than confined space detectors, robust and can detect a wider range of gas hazards. These devices are generally worn directly on the worker’s clothing or attached to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), close to the worker’s breathing area.

Our range of multi-gas detectors can measure gases including: Oxygen deficiency/enrichment, combustible gases and toxic gases. Most multi-gas detectors offer pumped or diffusion sampling and feature an IR sensor for monitoring Carbon Dioxide and PID sensor for monitoring VOCs.

a1-cbiss offer a range of gas detectors from RAE Systems, Industrial Scientific, Scott Safety and GMI which start with basic gas instruments to top of the range units packed with features that benefit a health and safety worker programme. Features include wireless transmission, lone worker alarms, datalogging, and rugged housing.

Why use a multi-gas detector?

Gas detectors save lives! When the gas concentration exceeds a pre-set alarm event on the multi-gas detecting device, it will alarm (by visual, audible and/or motion). This gives workers the confidence to work safely within a hazardous area and react directly to risks once they arise.

How do I choose a multi-gas detector?
