Launch of New F-gas Compliant Automatic Refrigerant Monitoring System

The European Union’s F-gas Regulation No 842/2006 stipulates that if you are handling, recovering, supplying, installing or manufacturing equipment containing HFC refrigerants (including R134A and blends containing F-gases such as R407C, R410A, R404A) you have a legal obligation to:

• Prevent leakages

• Ensure systems are checked for leaks

Both can be achieved with a refrigerant leak detection system. The CE marked ARMS is based on proven gas detection technologies with enhanced features and benefits configured to meet the specific requirements of the F-gas Regulation. By definition this is a system which is a calibrated mechanical, electrical or electronic device for detecting leakage of fluorinated greenhouse gases, which, on detection, alerts the operator.

a1-cbiss has over 18 years experience in the design, manufacture and installation of custom built gas monitoring and sampling systems. The ARMS is based on proven gas detection technologies with enhanced features and benefits configured to meet the specific requirements of the F gas regulation.

The ARMS utilises multi gas infra red sensor technology and can be supplied with 8, 16, 24 or 32 channels to provide wide area leak detection. In addition to these, the system features individual alarm relays per channel, a range of flexible I/O options as standard and fully configurable settings, accessed via the touch screen display.

Companies could lower costs by reducing leakage levels on their refrigeration plant. Most industrial and commercial systems have a number of potential leakage points.

As well as the F-gas Regulations, the increasing price of refrigerant gas makes it a priority to ensure that leak detection tests are carried out regularly.
