GAS121SL Benzene Standard Gastec Detector Tubes
Gas detector tubes are glass tubes that are filled with a chemical reagent that absorbs and reacts with the target gas or vapour being measured. Gastec tubes do not contain hazardous substances.
A colorimetric stain (a colour change) is created. For most tubes, the concentration is read directly from the pinpoint accurate measurement scale on each tube.
The Gastec detector tube system is comprised of a handheld Gastec air sampling pump and Gastec detector tubes.
Shelf Life - a1-cbiss will never dispatch detector tubes with less than 3 months remaining before expiry. a1-cbiss employ a stock rotation policy of first in, first out. Specific shelf life requirements must be identified at the point of order placement (use the comment box in the checkout process). The expiry date is printed clearly on the front of the detector tube packet.

Q&A
Q. Customer uses GAS121L tube for measuring Benzene in a biogas application. He noticed that during the sequential strokes (the instruction requests 5 strokes) the measurement zone was moving (both starting and ending point of the zone) after each stroke. There are other tubes with a lower result but also in these cases, he noticed the same behaviour of a moving zone after each stroke. Can you advise us what could be the cause of this effect, and how he can evaluate the result out of this reading?
A. The reason why the zone was moving is that there should be some aromatic hydrocarbons in the environment. The reading cannot be read unfortunately because GAS121L interferes with aromatic hydrocarbons. Instead, we recommend GAS121SP that does not interfere with aromatic hydrocarbons. Unless some substances do not exceed the ranges as indicated in “possible coexisting substances and interference”
