Common gas hazards include: Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Combustible Gases, Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), O2 (Enrichment/Deficient) and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC).

The military will use fuel to power machinery, vehicles, ships and aircraft therefore gas detection is required for the filling, storage, transportation and pumping of fuel.

Jet fighter aircraft require spray painting. Compressed breathing air requires testing within spray booths.
