IKAR, Tripods

When browsing for a confined space entry / rescue tripod system, you’ll quickly realise just how many choices there are when it comes to brand, components, attachments and features that make setting up and usability an easier task.

These differences make it difficult to determine which tripod system is best suited to your application and budget. Below are a few things to consider that will help you to make an informed decision.

A properly equipped tripod system will help you meet requirements for fall protection, lowering and raising equipment loads or rescue operations.

Fall Arrest / Recovery Device

The Fall Arrest Block has an integral recovery mechanism used to lift or lower a casualty post fall, or if they have become incapacitated in a confined space.

Alternatively, a second person can be clipped-in to ascent into the shaft to rescue the injured person.

The basic rescue/retrieval winch is manually operated by hand. It comes in varying lengths from 12 & 42m and is fitted with steel rope lifeline within a rugged aluminium housing. The inbuilt recovery mechanism can be engaged by a single person by pulling a pin on the side of the block and engaging a winding handle.

The fall arrest device can also be fitted to the IKAR DB-A1 aluminium tripod to protect the user when ascending and descending vertical shafts such as sewer systems.

Load Winch

The IKAR load winch is suitable for easy and jolt-free lifting and lowering of diverse loads up to 250Kg.
This device is for lifting and lowering loads, not personnel.

Why Choose an IKAR Tripod?

IKAR’S robust tripods can be set up / taken down within minutes by a single person.

The high-quality tripods are made from lightweight aluminium which makes them transportable and the legs are individually adjustable to be used on uneven ground.

They do not require a safety chain or band around the bottom of the tripod.
