We've Smashed Our Fundraising Target

A massive thank you to everyone at a1-cbiss who has taken part in the fundraising activities and contributed to the collections. As a company, we've raised a whopping £3555.28 for our nominated charity this year - The Owen McVeigh Foundation

Throughout 2019, a1-cbiss have been supporting the Owen McVeigh Foundation which offers help and support to families where children are seriously ill with cancer, creating lifetime memories.

What Does the Foundation Do?

The aim of the foundation is to raise funds and provide unforgettable experiences for sick children and their families. Some of the experiences include adventure days, concerts, sporting experiences, pantomime visits, and horse riding. More recently the foundation has opened a respite lodge in a beautiful setting for families to spend quality time together away from day to day life.

Who is Owen McVeigh?

This Foundation was set up in memory of Owen McVeigh who was only 11 years old when he passed away after a short diagnosis with leukemia.

Our Fundraising Target

Our commitment was to donate at least £3,500 to the Owen McVeigh Foundation.

We've managed to surpass our target and recently, we presented a cheque to Mark McVeigh for a staggering £3555.28.

We'd like to give massive thank you to everyone at a1-cbiss who has given up their own time to take part in the fundraising activities. Also a huge thank you to those of you that have sponsored us or donated through our JustGiving page.

Fundraisers

On Saturday 25th May 2019 a1-cbiss was the main sponsor for the annual Mount Snowdon walk. The a1-cbiss team - Rhys, Dom, Tom, Ian, Andy, Joe, Steve, Tom, Sara & Kev took on the challenge together. In total there were 160 people from the foundation. Here's a couple of photos from what was a fantastic day.

Mt Snowdon

On Saturday 7th September 2019

Tough Mudder presented a different challenge compared to the Snowdon walk for the a1-cbiss team. Joe, Kev, Sam, Tom, Steve, Mark, Ed, Andy and Kate took on the grueling challenge. This was all about teamwork. The team was faced with running for 10 miles in addition to tackling 25 obstacles on Tough Mudder's muddiest course in the UK.

Between the course and the obstacles, the team had to combat their own personal challenges to beat the climb over 10ft walls, face electrocution, form a human pyramid, wade through waist level mud, swim the lake and take a slide into sub-zero iced water. It was a real team effort to complete the course and very satisfying to complete every obstacle.
