Petrochemical Sites and Refineries

Common gas hazards include: Ammonia (NH3), Carbonyl Sulphide (COS), Carbon Monoxide, Hydrogen Chloride (HCl), Hydrogen (H2), Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), O2 (Enrichment/Deficient), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2)

Refineries convert crude oil mixes into various blends of Hydrocarbons for use in a variety of products. Sulphides (H2S and COS) are produced in refinery operations.

Flammable gases present include hydrogen and any of the hydrocarbons being processed in the plant, such as LPG & LNG.
