Description
Detecting and displaying up to 4 gases simultaneously, the PS200 is suitable for providing gas detection in a host of applications across a variety of industries. The PS200 is particularly suited to the shipping and marine applications thanks to the Marine Equipment Directive (MED) approvals.
The PS200, a 4 gas detector can be configured to detect a combination of Methane, Oxygen, Carbon Monoxide, Hydrogen Sulphide, as well as flammable gases.
See how the PS200 has been used to protect maintenance workers – PS200 Case Study
A robust and accurate portable gas detector, the Personal Surveyor (PS200 Series) provides protection in confined space applications with audible and visual alarms in the event of exposure to flammable or toxic gases.
Additional optional accessories include a 5-way charger and coloured rubber boots for multi-site or multi-application working.
New Enhancements
Increased Datalogging Capacity
The PS200 has a powerful new datalogging capacity that will enable users to capture all relevant calibration and session data over a 6-month period. This increased capacity allows users to log data over a longer period of time and supports the effective demonstration of compliance in line with audits and internal procedures.
STEL and LTEL Visible on Screen
Users will now be able to visualise their short-term and long-term exposures to Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) by toggling past the ‘MIN’ and ‘MAX’ readings on screen enabling them to quickly determine current exposure rates and take appropriate action.
Quick Configuration Display
Users can now check the configured status (sensors installed, calibration due timeline, pumped or diffusion, and the calibration gas required) of their instrument without fully switching it on. This enables a quicker assessment of the instrument suitability for the application or environment of use.
H2S Resolution Improvement
We have also improved the resolution for instruments equipped to detect H2S from 1 to 0.1 enabling users greater control of their alarm set points, improving confidence levels when working in harsh environments.
Sensors
The PS200 now comes as standard with a 3-year life O2 cell. Currently, this version containing the 3-year O2 sensor is NOT MED certified.
Configuration (as supplied)
M64141 4-Gas Standard Filter LEL Sensor/O2/H2S/CO Pumped
See LEL Sensor Options for details.
MED Approval
A Marine version of the PS200 is released with the Prefix “M” in front of the old part number i.e. M64041. This model is MED certified but still features the previous 2-year O2 Cell and carries a 2 yr warranty. For MED certification, this unit can only utilise the original catalytic bead LEL sensors (filtered/non-filtered) i.e. 64041 or 64041A but not the new low power or IR versions.
Man-Down Alarm
Any PS200 with the 5-year O2 cell installed can have an optional man down sensor installed, however, this is not compatible with 2 or 3-year versions of the PS200.
Compliance Capabilities
The PS200 has a built-in safety feature which has the ability to turn itself off when calibration is overdue. This forces the gas detector to be calibrated.
Reminder
The unit will come up with a red screen reminder upon calibration date when you turn the monitor on, it will then skip on and finish the warm-up period. The LEDs will flash red periodically and the screen during normal operations will periodically flash “calibration required”.
Confirmed Reminder
Exactly as above, however, the user will need to confirm by a button press that they are happy to use the monitor out of calibration during the warm-up period.
Lock Out
The unit will go through a warm-up but then enter alarm with a red screen saying “switch off calibration required” the unit will not enter normal operations and will remain on this screen until the unit is calibrated or switched off.
Lockout with Extension
This is the same as above, however, the manager can build in a buffer period that allows the user a grace period (1-30days). The unit will turn on and show the “switch off calibration required” screen, however, they have the option of pressing the confirm key and extending the cal date out by whatever has been set in the unit. You can only extend once, i.e. if you allow an extension for a week then at the end of the week the unit will just lock out. The idea of the extension is to allow remote workers to carry on with operations without having to take a detour back to a depot for calibration i.e. an engineer could complete his work if he knew 3 days later he was back in the office to calibrate the unit.
The PS200 retains the last five bump test and calibration data. In addition to displaying all gas readings simultaneously, the user can also initiate a manual bump test anytime using the low-cost Auto Bump/Calibration (ABC) test station. The ABC station dramatically improves compliance record-keeping, efficiency, and accuracy. Once the PS200 is placed in the dock it can be tested, calibrated, and charged.
The PS200 comes complete with:
Instrument supplied with: User CD, Quick Op Guide, Universal PSU/Communications Cable, 6 months calibration certificate. The Quick Operation Guide (QOG) now includes a QR / website link enabling easy access to the document library.
The Auto Bump / Calibration Station
The Auto Bump/Calibration station dramatically improves compliance record-keeping, efficiency, and accuracy. Once the PS200 is placed in the dock it can be tested, calibrated, and charged. Extremely cost effective, the station requires no testing and minimal effort by users
