Our Charity Work

Working with local charities is an integral part of our values as a company. At a1-cbiss, we offer our support through fundraising campaigns, donations and by giving up our own time.

In 2019, a1-cbiss were visited by Mark McVeigh who talked through some of the excellent work that the Owen McVeigh Foundation does for children who are ill with cancer and their families who live in and around the Liverpool and Wirral area.

After listening to Mark and watching the Owen McVeigh video, it was pretty clear that our staff were keen on fundraising for the foundation.

Owen McVeigh

This Foundation was set up in memory of Owen McVeigh who was only 11 years old when he passed away after a short diagnosis with leukaemia. The purpose of the charity is to offer help and support to families where children are seriously ill with cancer, creating lifetime memories.

As a team, we discussed a number of fundraising ideas. We were keen to pick a fundraising event that is challenging but requires a teamwork ethic.

Throughout 2019, we climbed Wales' tallest mountain - Snowdon, tackled Tough Mudder and held weekly Tea & Toast mornings to fundraise for the foundation.

Our Fundraising Target

Our commitment was to donate at least £3,500 to the Owen McVeigh Foundation. On 10th Sept, we presented a cheque to the Owen McVeigh Foundation for a huge £3555.28
