Acoustic Gas Leak Detectors

Acoustic gas leak detectors are specified in harsh or challenging conditions, where a gust of wind may dispel any leaking gas and blow it away from traditional gas detectors which can compromise the revelation of a gas leak.  

Acoustic leak detectors are mainly installed on outdoor locations such as petrochemical sites or oil rigs to monitor the risk of explosion. 

The advantage that acoustic detection technology has over conventional technology is gas does not need to come into contact with the acoustic detector as it has to with fixed-point detectors. The acoustic detector responds to the sound at the source of the gas leak, instead of the gas itself.
