Acoustic gas leak detectors are installed on outdoor locations – petrochemical sites or oil rigs to monitor the intensity of explosive gases.
The advantage that acoustic detection technology has over conventional technology is gas does not need to come into contact with the acoustic detector as it has to with fixed-point detectors.
The acoustic detector responds to the sound at the source of the gas leak, instead of the gas itself.
