Single Gas Detectors
Single gas detectors are generally worn directly on clothing or attached to PPE within the breathing area to give an accurate gas exposure measurement.
Our Gas Detectors
Single single gas detectors are used for personal protection and have the ability to detect a single gas hazard. Typically they are small, lightweight and robust. These devices are generally worn directly on the worker’s clothing or attached to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), close to the worker’s breathing area (30cm).
Single gas detectors continuously monitor ambient air. When the gas concentration exceeds a pre-set alarm event on the device, it will alarm (by visual, audible and/or motion). This allows workers to react directly to risks.
Single gas detector prices start from £73. We won’t be beaten on price.
Next Day Delivery
Huge stock of Protégé ZM detectors available on next day delivery.
Various Alarms That Gain Attention
Various types of audible, visual and motion alarms are available because gas monitors are worn in noisy and dark applications.
a1-cbiss support the Crowcon, Teledyne, RAE Systems, BW, and Industrial Scientific single personal gas detector product ranges.
Detectors You Can Rely On
Problems are less likely to arise if your portable gas detectors have a regular service plan. Single gas detector service plan starting from £30.
What are Single Gas Detectors?
Single gas detectors are generally only available for Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Oxygen (O2) or Sulphur Dioxide (SO2). Serviceable gas detectors typically detect up to 15 gases.
The battery and sensors within single gas detectors will generally run for approx two years. Once they’re switched on, they’re on for their lifetime. Serviceable gas detectors have consumable parts, so the battery and sensors can be replaced. This allows ongoing use until they become damaged beyond economic repair.
Single gas detectors only offer event logging. If you require data logging rather than event logging, consider a Serviceable single gas detector.
IP67 rating means that the gas detector can be submerged in up to 1m of water and is totally protected from particulates. Some of our single gas detectors have this protective rating.
Hibernation mode allows the gas detector to be placed in a ‘hibernation mode’ when not in use. A hibernation case may need to be purchased separately. This allows for the gas detector’s life to be increased from 2 years up to a maximum of 3 years.
In many cases, single gas detectors are purchased for immediate safety, operational or legislative need, but often, little thought is given to keeping them operational and within performance requirements for their life.
There are 3 main costs.
Calibration or performance testing
Maintenance and replacement costs
Loss of product or replacement when units are being serviced
